Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, customer-first store environment and to support the Store Manager in supervising staff, merchandising, and daily operations.

The role involves cashiering, stocking, and ensuring profitability and asset protection while delivering excellent service. It requires strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers, operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking and building displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels, controlling damages, markdowns, scans, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Assist in planogram implementation and merchandise presentation.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability, key control, and deposits; handle refunds/overrides, count tills, deposit money.
