Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist the Store Manager with supervision, merchandise presentation, deposits, and daily store operations.

The role includes stocking, cashiering, training, safety meetings, and adherence to company policies to maximize profitability and protect assets. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling employees and provide training.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise, stock, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory and controls.
• Implement and maintain planograms per Store Manager guidance.
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager’s absence.
