Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager, you will supervise employees, help manage merchandise, and handle deposits.

This role requires a high school diploma, retail experience, and strong communication. You will be involved in scheduling, training, inventory control, and executing company policies to drive profitability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of retail experience; six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and cash handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and protect company assets.
• Ensure planograms are followed and displays meet standards.
• Maintain cash control and authorize refunds and overrides, counting tills and deposits.
• Assist in store management during Store Manager's absence.
