Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead a customer-first store, supervise daily operations under the Store Manager. You will help schedule staff, train employees, manage merchandise, and ensure accurate inventory while safeguarding assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service leadership; operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking, displays.
• Maintain inventory levels; control damages and markdowns.
• Implement and maintain planograms per Store Manager direction.
• Ensure cashier integrity; handle refunds, overrides, deposits.
• Assist with Store Manager absence management.
