Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager of Operations to lead fast-paced store execution, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and exceptional athlete experiences.

You will coach and develop teammates, optimize processes, and uphold safety and policy standards across front and back-of-house operations. You will partner with the Store Manager to plan staffing, drive key programs, and maintain merchandising standards while delivering strong financial results in a dynamic retail

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1-3 years experience.
• 1-3 of retail management experience (or customer-focused experience).

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the Store Manager to contribute to developing and executing full-year business growth plans, including forecasting and planning 90+ days out.
• Directly manages a team of Captains (Supervisors) and indirectly manages broader store team through influence, coaching, and development.
• Oversees payroll and staff scheduling to align with budget goals and adapt to athlete traffic and sales trends, ensuring workforce flexibility and schedule effectiveness.
• Hires and builds strong teams by partnering closely with the Store Manager and Captain (Supervisor) team to create targeted hiring strategies to actively source, recruit, and interview potential teammates.
• Owns hiring decisions for the Captain (Supervisor) population and is accountable for hiring and termination decisions for the hourly population, based on Captain (Supervisor) recommendations.
