Job summary

Dollar Tree in North Port, FL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, service customers, and develop the team. You will assist with daily functions, organize merchandise, and help with opening/closing tasks.

Ideal candidates have store management experience in retail or related fields, and strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Responsible for maintaining store cleanliness, bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
