Job summary

MFA Petroleum Company is seeking an energetic Break Time Assistant Manager to help run day-to-day store operations, coach a team, and assist with finances and promotions. You’ll lead by example, ensure excellent customer service, and support food service and safety programs.

The role emphasizes teamwork, shift supervision, and adherence to company policies while maintaining strong communication with customers and vendors in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Availability to work and/or support all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance with reliable transportation to bank visits.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Works well alone and in leading a team.
• Ability to perform duties accurately with minimal supervision.
• Ability to perform math calculations for change and shift reports.
• Ability to learn new concepts and operate a computer and POS software.
• Physical ability to lift and move products, and endure long standing shifts.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Working with customers — provide excellent service and encourage the team to do the same, greet and thank customers, support peak hours.
• Day-to-day store operations — assist operations, banking, inventory, bookkeeping, fuel management, and upkeep of equipment and premises.
• Merchandising and sales — execute pricing, promotions, stocking, and keep merchandise fronted and clean.
• Supervising — handle shift supervision in the manager’s absence and help train new staff.
• Communication — maintain professional communication with customers, vendors, and team members.
• Financial Responsibility — understand store finances, control shortages, participate in audits, and support cost targets.
• Teamwork — recruit, train, coach, and develop a strong team and promote a positive culture.
• Working with technology — use POS, computers, and handheld devices for transactions and reporting.
• Compliance — follow company policies and local regulations and perform other duties as assigned.
