Job summary

MFA Petroleum Company is seeking an Assistant Manager to help run the Break Time Convenience Store, coaching team members and assisting with store finances. The role emphasizes delivering excellent customer service, supervising daily operations, merchandising, and ensuring food safety and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will lead shifts in the manager’s absence, train new staff, and uphold high standards for store presentation and customer experience.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Availability to work and/or support all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance with transportation to/from bank.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Works well individually and in leading a team.
• Ability to perform numerical calculations, shift reports, and inventory counts.
• Ability to learn new concepts and operate a computer and office equipment.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers and supporting the store team during peak hours.
• Handle daily store operations including reporting, banking, inventory, bookkeeping, and fuel management.
• Assist with merchandising, pricing, promotions, and keeping merchandise stocked and organized.
• Support shift supervision in the absence of the manager and contribute to staff training.
• Maintain professional communication with customers, vendors, and management across store operations.
• Participate in inventory audits and loss control related to cash handling and merchandise.
