Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Store Leader to help manage day-to-day store operations across multiple departments in Illinois. You will coach and develop associates to meet customer expectations and drive EBITDA results.

In this role, you will lead merchandising initiatives, optimize labor and costs, and collaborate with leadership to achieve budgets while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to resolve customer issues effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
• Ability to supervise and motivate a team to achieve sales goals.
• Proficient in basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist store leader and team members in creating a favorable customer shopping experience through store conditions and service.
• Lead teams in planning, implementing, and executing merchandising and operating initiatives.
• Identify opportunities in the store and develop timely solutions with action plans for implementation.
• Drive sales with teams to maximize profits, reduce shrink, and improve department contributions.
• Support regular store-level financial performance discussions including budgets and goals.
• Analyze competitive landscape and respond with actionable plans.
• Coordinate with leadership to ensure division merchandising and operations plans are executed.
• Assist with staffing, reduce turnover, and improve retention across store operations.
• Provide timely feedback to team on performance and development.
• Help manage labor and supply costs daily to meet service and financial targets.
