Job summary

Bass Pro Shops in Macon, GA seeks a General Manager to oversee daily store operations, merchandising, and staff performance. The role drives customer service, inventory control, and financial efficiency, while upholding company policies and brand standards.

The GM will supervise multiple departments, ensure staffing, training, and performance evaluations, and lead the store to achieve its financial goals and a safe shopping environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years in high volume, big box retail management with multi-store experience.
• Ability to calculate discounts, commissions and percentages.
• Ability to read and analyze reports and write business correspondence.
• Proficiency with PC-based word processing, spreadsheets and inventory management systems.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervises store management including Assistant Store Manager, HR Manager, Loss Prevention Manager and Promotions Manager.
• Opens and closes the store and manages staffing for service oriented associates.
• Maintains merchandising directives and executing marketing and advertising strategies.
• Meets or exceeds financial plans and controls assets and cash management.
• Delivers world class customer service and resolves customer and associate issues.
• Recruits, interviews, hires, trains and evaluates staff per company policy.
