Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Texas to help maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. You will supervise employees, manage merchandise, complete deposits, and support profitability while protecting assets.

Responsibilities include scheduling, training, inventory control, planogram adherence, and cash-control duties. The role requires strong communication, reliability, and the ability to lead during the Store Manager's absence.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems and handle various situations.
• Good organization with attention to detail.
• Ability to read diagrams, safety rules and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic math and cash handling tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service leadership; greet customers and operate the register to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to receive, stock, restock and display merchandise.
• Maintain inventory accuracy; control damages, markdowns, paperwork.
• Assist with planograms and presentation per Store Manager guidance.
• Ensure cashier accountability, cash handling, deposits, and security practices.
• Assist store management in Store Manager absence.
