Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an experienced store leader to manage all store operations, staff, and customer service. You will oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandising, scheduling and safety compliance to drive sales and store performance.

The role requires hands-on supervision, training, performance reviews, and strong communication with employees and leadership. You will personally open and close the store as needed and ensure a clean, secure shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of retail management experience.
• Ability to recruit, hire, train and develop staff.
• Knowledge of cash handling, loss prevention and safety policies.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees per laws; ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations, address gaps.
• Set pay rate recommendations and advancement.
• Communicate expectations; coordinate safety and policy meetings.
• Open and close the store as required.
• Monitor sales, expenses, and inventory trends weekly.
• Oversee stock replenishment and merchandising to plan.
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash controls.
