Job summary

Family Dollar in Brodhead, KY seeks an Assistant Store Manager to assist with store operations, customer service, and team development. You will supervise day-to-day activities, help organize merchandise, and ensure the seasonal areas of the store are maintained, while upholding company standards.

This part-time role requires strong communication, mentoring skills, and dedication to a safe, friendly shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and handle frequent walking, standing, stooping, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment with exceptional customer service and organizational skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for store-fronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and loss prevention.
• Maintain orderly store areas to company standards and secure store assets including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
