Job summary

Family Dollar in New York is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, help organize merchandise, and supervise store associates to maintain standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties including walking, standing, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for store fronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
