Job summary

Family Dollar in New York is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, deliver great customer service and develop team members. You will support opening and closing procedures, organize merchandise and maintain stockrooms and sales floors to company standards.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to train and supervise associates, and a focus on safety and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail or similar environment is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising and developing Store Associates.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment and professional interactions with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean and orderly, including bathrooms and floors.
