Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a seasoned Store Department Head to manage non-perishable food and general merchandise operations under the Store Manager. You will optimize inventory, merchandise presentation, and customer service while ensuring safety and asset protection.

You will lead staffing decisions, train managers, and coordinate with vendors to maintain stock levels and timely deliveries. A strong focus on cost control and operational excellence is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary business school preferred.
• Minimum of three years of retail store experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Knowledge of cash handling, inventory management, and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Interview and select store personnel for Food and Non-Food departments.
• Train department managers on stock levels, ordering, unloading, stocking, and safety procedures.
• Schedule coverage and monitor performance; implement corrective actions as required.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and ensure timely deliveries and accurate billing.
• Oversee the 7 Day Workflow Plan for stocking standards and procedures.
• Lead cash handling, deposits, and safeguarding company assets.
