Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in Evansville, IN. You will assist with daily functions, supervise associates, and help ensure all policies are followed.

The role requires strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills, with physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform opening/closing duties as needed. Part-time position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking/standing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Able to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Help merchandise flow from delivery to stockroom to floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and maintain store communications and records.
• Maintain fixtures, displays, and promotional materials.
• Assist in ordering, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and friendly store environment.
• Ensure store cleanliness and restock as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
