Job summary

Family Dollar in Springfield, GA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily tasks and help ensure a welcoming, efficient shopping environment.

Responsibilities include opening/closing, merchandising, payroll and scheduling, loss prevention, and adherence to company policies. The role requires strong communication, leadership, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Strong customer service and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged goods, record-keeping, payroll and cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and tidy; secure assets including cash.
• Adhere to policies, safety guidelines, and train store associates.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
