Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in Laurel, MS. You will assist with daily store activities, supervise associates, manage payroll and scheduling, and help maintain store standards, security, and merchandising, while delivering a positive and safe shopping environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with opening/closing, directing team performance, loss prevention, and ensuring a well-stocked, clean store

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Store management experience in retail is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and payroll/scheduling records.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Follow safety policies and store procedures.
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Potential other duties as assigned.
