Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Mississippi LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development at our Laurel location.

Responsibilities include assisting with merchandise organization, opening/closing procedures, and following corporate directives while ensuring a safe, friendly shopping environment for customers and staff alike.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties as part of the role.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional displays and store frontage.
• Assist in ordering, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and positive environment with customers and staff.
