Job summary

Family Dollar in Laurel, MS is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to assist with store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help maintain merchandising, support opening/closing, and ensure physical store standards are met.

You will supervise, train, and develop Store Associates while upholding safety guidelines and delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment with strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize merchandise transfer from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain store areas to company standards and protect assets including store cash.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll records, scheduling, and loss prevention.
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
