Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Lubbock, TX, to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily activities, handle merchandise flow, and help maintain a well-stocked floor and organized stockroom.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, payroll and scheduling support, loss prevention, and adherence to policies. You will supervise, train, and develop store associates while ensuring a safe, friendly shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize, transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain areas of the store and stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment with professional interactions with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, restocking bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
