Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. Working under the Store Manager, you will supervise store employees, manage merchandise presentation, and handle deposits and paperwork to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

You will lead cashiering, stocking, and daily store operations, including scheduling, training, and enforcing company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year retail experience; six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Ability to perform cash handling and deposits.
• Ability to drive to the bank for deposits.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling and training.
• Maintain planograms and merchandise displays.
• Manage inventory and monitor shrinkage.
• Ensure cash integrity and deposits.
• Assist with store operations in Manager's absence.
