Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Newnan, GA to support daily store functions, customer service, and team development. The role involves merchandising, opening/closing duties, and ensuring safe, organized operations.

Strong communication and a track record in retail management are preferred. The position emphasizes leadership, loss prevention, stockroom organization, and adherence to company policies while maintaining a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision‑making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all corporate directives and related communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure compliance by store associates.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and friendly environment for customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean and restocked, including bathrooms, floors, and trash disposal.
• Other duties as assigned*.
