Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support day-to-day store operations, customer service, and staff development. You will help with opening/closing, merchandise handling, and maintaining a clean, organized store.

This role requires strong communication and teamwork to ensure safety and excellent customer experiences. Expect to assist with payroll and scheduling duties, support loss prevention, and ensure adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; able to read, interpret and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties as described.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Open and close procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities and communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll records, scheduling, cash deposits and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets including cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure staff follow policies.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment while interacting with customers and staff.
• Responsible for cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, and trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
