Job summary

Dollar Tree in Bloomington, MN is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandising, payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention while ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and associates.

You will support the Store Manager in coaching Store Associates, maintaining promotional displays, and performing opening/closing duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain areas of the store to company standards, keeping a clean, well-stocked floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures and ensure staff follow them.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Provide a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
