Job summary

Weis Markets, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily operations and lead store teammates at 1100 North Fourth Street, Sunbury. The role focuses on merchandising execution, inventory control, scheduling, and exceptional customer service.

You will work to achieve sales goals, maintain food safety standards, and ensure compliance with labor laws while coaching associates and conducting daily huddles. This position is on-site and requires a strong retail leadership mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement of a high school education or GED and two (2) years relevant retail experience.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in business or related field desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as Manager on Duty in the absence of Store Manager and perform all necessary functions for store operation.
• Execute weekly and seasonal merchandising plans, manage inventory levels and CGO to meet sales and gross profit goals.
• Train and develop associates, conduct daily huddles, and address customer issues promptly and effectively.
• Review department schedules to meet budgeted payroll and sales-per-labor-hour goals; ensure labor laws are followed.
• Oversee receiving, pricing, freshness, rotation, and logs; enforce price accuracy and weights and measures laws.
• Maintain housekeeping and food safety standards; ensure equipment safety and OSHA compliance.
• Lead training programs to develop department management and assess performance.
• Perform daily store walks to identify opportunities and communicate directions to staff.
