Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, and handle deposits, while performing stocking, cashier duties, and other responsibilities to protect assets and maximize profitability.

You will support scheduling, training, and safety meetings, maintain inventory, and ensure planograms are followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment is preferred.
• Six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training, and safety meetings.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise including stocking and rotating displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages and markdowns.
• Assist with planograms and merchandise presentation.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability, deposits, and cash handling.
• Assist in store management in the Manager's absence.
