Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a dedicated Store Operations Supervisor to support the management team, guide daily store activities, and serve as a problem solver for the department. You will handle cash office duties, coordinate with Home Office, and ensure invoices and shipments support merchandise availability.

The role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and reliable leadership in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

2+ years’ experience in a retail setting preferred.
Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age to be considered for employment.
High school diploma/GED preferred.
Outstanding customer service skills to match customers to products that meet their needs.
Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.
Excellent customer service and communication skills needed.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Handle cash office duties and assist in store operations.
Communicate with Home Office and resolve merchandise payable matters.
Match invoices and ensure the store has products to service our customers.
Provide daily support, direction, and guidance to customers and team members.
Act as the Manager‑on‑Duty in the absence of the manager or at satellite locations.
Assist with assigning work and directing team members to manage multiple projects.
