Job summary

Dollar Tree in Indian Land, SC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee daily store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with merchandising, opening and closing procedures, staffing, loss prevention, and maintaining clean, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom to company standards.

This role requires strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills to create a positive, safe shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and interpret directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Able to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays to ensure effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling; aid loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect store assets including cash.
• Ensure policies and safety guidelines are followed by all associates.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
