Job summary

Family Dollar in St. Louis, MO seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, supervise associates, and help maintain a welcoming shopping environment.

You will help with opening/closing procedures, merchandise placement, inventory control, and adherence to company policies. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential to drive results and ensure a safe, profitable store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Help organize merchandise and maintain seasonal store areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and maintain records and compliance.
• Maintain fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a clean, stocked store and secure assets.
• Adhere to policies and ensure safety guidelines are followed.
• Support Store Manager in training and development of store associates.
• Create a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of store, bathrooms, floors, and waste disposal.
