Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Shiloh, IL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. This role includes assisting with opening/closing, merchandising, payroll, and staff training to maintain high standards.

You will help organize merchandise, train associates, and ensure safe, friendly customer experiences while maintaining store integrity and daily operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Customer service, organizational and problem-solving abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery to stockroom and floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines, ensuring staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe environment with professional interactions.
• Keep store clean, restocked bathrooms, floors swept and mopped, trash removed.
• Other duties as assigned.
