Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Kentucky LP in Monticello, KY is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help with daily store activities, organize merchandise, and ensure seasonal areas are maintained while managing opening and closing procedures.

You will process directives, assist in payroll and scheduling, monitor store fixtures, protect assets, and ensure policies and safety guidelines are followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, and other physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect company assets, including store cash, and follow safety guidelines.
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates; ensure a positive environment.
