Job summary

Family Dollar in Martinsburg, WV is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and staff development. You will assist with daily store activities, help customers, organize merchandise and participate in opening and closing procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and store communications
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for storefronts
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling
• Maintain a well-stocked, clean, and organized sales floor and stockroom
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop store associates
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment and professional interactions
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal
• Other duties as assigned
