Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Lafayette, IN to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and ensure store standards are met.

The role involves opening/closing procedures, supervising and training associates, and maintaining a safe, friendly environment. Part-time position with opportunities for growth and various store program duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Aid in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines
• Help store manager supervise, train, and develop store associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, and restocking
• Other duties as assigned
