Job summary

Dollar General Store Manager Candidate role supports the Store Manager in executing store processes, staffing, inventory, and customer service to ensure store performance. This temporary position develops external candidates for future management and is held for a limited period.

You'll work closely with store leadership to maintain accurate paperwork, open and close the store, and uphold cash control and safety policies while delivering excellent service to customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising per manager direction.
• Assist in inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate store in store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete paperwork and documentation according to guidelines and deadlines.
