Job summary

Tractor Supply Company is seeking a Manager Trainee in the Rocky Mount, Virginia area to learn the duties of the Store Manager position and develop skills for leadership. You will focus on delivering Legendary Customer Experience, building the team, driving sales, and managing inventory and profit while controlling expenses.

The role emphasizes training across merchandising, scheduling, communications, and district coordination, with opportunities to progress into a Store Manager role.

Qualifications

• Retail experience and/or farming knowledge strongly preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Recruiting, hiring, developing, evaluating, disciplining, and retaining efficient team members.
• Delivering on our promise of Legendary Customer Service through GURA: Greet the Customer, Uncover Needs, Recommend Solutions, Add Value.
• Schedule, organize, and plan daily activities for team members to ensure efficient store operations.
• Learn sales and profit management – accountable for achieving top and bottom line.
• Manage the daily merchandise flow to ensure adequate in-stock and inventory controls.
• Train on daily, weekly, and monthly processing of required paperwork including invoices, schedules, orders, returns, and POs reports.
