Job summary

Dollar General is looking for a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in supervising staff, managing inventory, stocking, and daily store operations. This role is designed to develop external candidates for the Store Manager position and will be for a limited duration.

The successful candidate will assist in recruiting, merchandising, and inventory processes, while upholding company policies and ensuring a safe, orderly shopping environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Familiarity with IBM cash register functions and report generation.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Awareness of cash, store keys, safety and security policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stock presentation.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and paperwork.
• Follow ordering to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Act as a role model by following company procedures.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of funds and cashier accountability.
• Maintain clean, safe, and well-stocked store conditions.
• Operate store in manager's absence.
• Review statements to identify trends and control expenses.
• Complete paperwork and documentation on deadlines.
