Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist in supervising staff, merchandising, inventory, and daily store operations. You will help ensure in-stock targets, proper pricing, and a safe environment while supporting the Store Manager role for a limited period.

The role emphasizes customer service leadership, adherence to policies, and accurate cashier controls. Some locations may prefer bilingual Spanish speakers, with travel and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year retail experience preferred for external candidates.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at certain locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing to support store operations.
• Assist with merchandising, staging, stocking and pricing per guidelines.
• Help manage inventory, damages, markdowns, and paperwork; conduct inventories.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and model company policies.
• Participate in opening and closing store activities and bank deposits.
• Maintain cash handling integrity and security procedures.
• Keep store clean, well-stocked and safe for customers and employees.
• Operate the store in the manager's absence and review business performance.
• Complete required paperwork and documentation on time.
