Job summary

Dollar General Store is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in supervision, staffing, inventory control, merchandising, and day-to-day operations. This role focuses on developing external candidates for the Store Manager track and is held for a limited period.

Responsibilities include recruiting support, merchandising execution, inventory accuracy, ordering practices, and cash-control compliance to ensure a safe, well-stocked shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising, staging, stocking and pricing of merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and conduct inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Assist in opening and closing the store and cash handling controls.
