Whataburger Of Mesquite, Inc. is seeking a Manager to partner with the General Manager to drive sales, service, and operational excellence at the unit.

You will lead teams, manage staffing, training, safety, and budget activities while upholding Whataburger standards. The role includes participating in development programs and earning certifications to advance within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Protects and promotes the Whataburger Brand at all times.
• Schedules training as directed by the unit’s/shift staffing plan.
• Maintains professional relationships with Team Members; Treats team members with fairness and sensitivity, avoiding any indication of favoritism.
• Communicates harassment complaints to General Manager, Area Manager, Senior Area Manager, Director of Operations, and/or Director of Human Resources, as appropriate.
• Prepares and presents ideas and recommendations to Team Members and upper management.
• Communicates directions clearly and follows up to ensure specific actions are carried out as intended.
• Demonstrate Whataburger’s Family Value Proposition “Pride, Care, and Love”.
• Uses on the spot training to improve performance, providing positive feedback and encouraging Team Members to ask questions.
• Evaluates Team Member performance by meal period and provides feedback to Team Members and General Manager.
• Participates in developing individual development plans for Team Members and conducts skill assessments.
• Recommends Team Members who can perform as trainers and develops selected trainers.
• Exemplifies leadership and serves as a role model for others; acts as a resource for Team Members.
• Recognizes and rewards top performers on a regular basis.
• Uses the sales plan to set customer service goals to improve sales and traffic.
• Maintains payroll, personnel training records and reports on assigned shifts.
• Ensures proper uniform and clock-in/out; maintains safety and reports issues.
• Implements performance standards for quality food and friendly service; reviews production skills.
• Conducts accurate POS and workstation procedures; initiates upsell activity.
• Handles emergencies calmly and ensures equipment operates efficiently.
• Tracks and audits sales, food, labor, cash, and expenses daily.
• Completes end of day paperwork; places food and supply orders; conducts safe audits and inventories.
• Reviews weekly sales/labor analysis and reports; ensures staffing and operations meet goals.
