Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager in New York to lead daily store operations, staff, and customer service excellence. You will oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandising, and safety compliance while driving sales and profitability.

The role requires hands-on leadership, experience in retail management, ability to train employees, manage schedules, and ensure loss prevention. This position is based at a Dollar General store in the New York region.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in retail preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and safety rules.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposits.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide proper training; conduct performance evaluations; disciplinary actions when needed.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings.
• Ensure store is appropriately staffed and opened/closed daily.
• Open the store at least twice per week and close at least twice per week.
• Evaluate operating statements for trends and opportunities; review sales, profitability and shrink.
• Review ordering plan and inventory management issues weekly; follow up on replenishment.
