Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead all aspects of store operations, including staffing, training, inventory, and customer service. You will oversee daily activities, ensure policy compliance, and drive sales while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for shoppers.

The role requires strong leadership, retail experience, and the ability to manage ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing and merchandising to meet in-stock targets and performance goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to recruit, hire, train and retain qualified staff while ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise store staff to ensure proper staffing and coverage.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations and address gaps as needed.
• Make recommendations on employee pay rates and advancement opportunities.
• Communicate expectations and safety policies; coordinate meetings and events.
• Open and close the store as required; maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Analyze operating statements to identify trends, opportunities and risks.
• Order and manage inventory to meet in-stock targets and seasonal directions.
• Ensure accurate cashier procedures, cash handling and loss prevention.
