Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit control procedures.
• Familiarity with inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations, and address gaps as needed.
• Make recommendations regarding pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Open and close the store as needed to ensure operations.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify trends and cost-control opportunities.
• Monitor stock levels and inventory accuracy; review ordering plans weekly.
• Maintain store presentation, pricing and signage according to guidelines.
