Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead daily store operations, drive sales, and ensure excellent customer service. You will recruit, train and supervise staff, manage inventory and ordering, and enforce safety and cash controls.

You will open and close the store, analyze operating statements, and build a positive, compliant work environment across shifts. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma and retail mgmt experience.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a retail team and driving store performance.
• Strong cash handling, inventory management and reporting skills.
• Proven ability to recruit, train and coach staff.
• Knowledge of safety, loss prevention and cash controls.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and policy; ensure staffing.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, and counsel when needed.
• Set pay considerations and advancement recommendations.
• Communicate performance expectations and conduct regular team meetings.
• Open and close the store on a regular basis; ensure daily readiness.
• Analyze sales, profitability, and inventory to identify trends and opportunities.
• Manage stock targets, ordering plans, and cycle counts weekly.
• Stage, stock and display merchandise per company guidelines.
• Ensure merchandising accuracy, pricing and signage.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages and shrink.
• Uphold cash handling, key control, and security procedures.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and a clean store environment.
• Ensure compliance with policies and complete required paperwork on time.
