Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store operations, staffing and processes. You will lead hiring, training, performance reviews, and adherence to policies and safety standards. The role requires ensuring in-stock levels, accurate cash handling, and effective customer service in a fast-paced environment.

You will analyze sales trends, control expenses, and coordinate opening/closing shifts while maintaining a compliant, high-performing team across daily store activities.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedures and safety rules.
• Numerical skills for calculations and reporting.
• Knowledge of cash handling and cashier accountability.
• Experience with inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with recruiting, interviewing and training processes.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees per federal/state laws and policies.
• Provide training; conduct evaluations and address gaps or counseling if needed.
• Set pay recommendations and opportunities for advancement.
• Communicate performance, safety and policy expectations regularly.
• Open/close the store as needed, ensure proper staffing.
• Analyze sales, profitability, and inventory to identify trends and issues.
• Manage ordering and stock targets; review planning and cycle counts weekly.
• Ensure merchandise is presented with proper pricing, signage and fixtures.
• Maintain accurate inventory and security, including cash control procedures.
• Lead customer service efforts and maintain a clean, safe store environment.
