Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead all store operations in a fast-paced retail environment. You will oversee staffing, training, performance coaching and adherence to policies while ensuring a high level of customer service and accurate cash handling.

Responsibilities include ordering, receiving, stocking, inventory control, merchandising, opening/closing, and maintaining a safe, well-organized store that meets sales targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps and counsel staff, up to termination.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Open and close the store daily with proper staffing.
• Oversee operating statements to identify trends, expenses and errors.
• Order and manage stock levels to meet in-stock targets; review weekly plans and inventory issues.
• Facilitate stocking, merchandising, pricing and signage.
• Maintain inventory and cash controls; ensure cashier accountability and store security.
• Provide strong customer service leadership and a safe shopping environment.
