Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily operations, staffing, inventory, and store needs. This temporary role develops external candidates for the Store Manager position and is held for a limited period.

You will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory accuracy, and cash handling while delivering superior customer service and maintaining standards. Some travel between stores may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and safety rules.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including deposit controls.
• Ability to learn and perform IBM cash register functions and reports.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and pricing per practices.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and audits.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Participate in opening and closing activities.
• Ensure bank deposits are conducted safely.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment.
• Review operating statements and identify opportunities.
