Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. is seeking a Store Manager in Training in Plainfield, IL to learn how to manage store operations, merchandising, and customer service. You’ll recruit and develop associates, supervise daily activities, and implement directives from headquarters to maximize profits.

The role emphasizes leadership, compliance, and delivering a welcoming shopping environment. A quarterly bonus may be earned based on performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years prior retail management experience is preferred.
• Experience with hardlines or variety merchandise; BIG BOX experience a plus is preferred.
• Strong productivity management in freight processing is required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Must be able to lift 30 to 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and perform related physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and hire store associates to serve our customers.
• Foster the growth and development of associates through training on operations and merchandising while coaching and correcting when appropriate.
• Oversee and delegate all store activities to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, while enforcing company policies and procedures.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Implement operational and merchandising direction from corporate HQ.
• Help the store reach its maximum profit contribution.
• Protect company assets.
• Maintain a high level of customer service across the store.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with professional interactions.
