Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in everyday operations, supervision, staffing, inventory, and storefront conditions. This role serves as a developmental step toward the Store Manager position and is temporary.

You will assist in recruiting, merchandising, stock control, cash handling, loss prevention, and customer service leadership, while ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards across a busy retail environment in Illinois.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit controls.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and proper pricing of merchandise.
• Assist in inventory management, damages, markdowns, and receiving paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and store operations support.
• Operate the store in the manager's absence and review operating statements.
